Tree Planting Festival: Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho
04/02/2017
On the morning of February 4, 2017, at the Hong Giao Temple Stadium in Keo Village, Duy Nhat Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province, residents from three villages in Keo enthusiastically participated in the "Tet Tree Planting Festival" in honor of beloved President Ho Chi Minh, continuing a meaningful tradition in the spring of Dinh Dau 2017.
Officials and residents of Keo Village actively responded to the movement, embracing the spirit of environmental conservation. In the joyful atmosphere of Tet, this festival serves as a cherished tradition initiated by President Ho Chi Minh in late 1959. Recognizing the importance of protecting nature, Uncle Ho encouraged the Vietnamese people to plant trees, preserving the country’s greenery with his heartfelt message:
"Spring is the season for tree planting,
Make the country flourish like Spring."
For over half a century, this tradition has remained an essential part of Vietnamese life, evolving into a widespread movement that reflects both environmental consciousness and the deep-rooted cultural values of the nation.
