Opening of the Keo Pagoda Spring Festival 2025 in Thai Binh: Preserving the Sacred Spirit of Vietnamese Culture

As per tradition, on the 4th day of the first lunar month (February 1, 2025), at the Keo Pagoda Special National Relic Site (Duy Nhat Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province), the local authorities once again held the Spring Festival, welcoming a large number of visitors from all over to admire the scenery and worship Buddha and Saints.

On February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake), the Spring Opening Calligraphy Ceremony was joyfully held at Keo Pagoda, Thai Binh. This is one of the expanded festive activities at the Keo Pagoda Spring Festival 2025.

Thiên Quán Pagoda in Thái Bình solemnly held the Vesak Celebration of Buddhist Calendar 2562 – Gregorian Calendar 2018.

Joining the joyful atmosphere of Vesak celebrations across the country, on the morning of May 27, 2018 (the 13th day of the fourth lunar month, Year of the Dog), in response to the invitation of the Buddhist Association of Thiên Quán Pagoda, Venerable Thích Thanh Quang from Tổ Đình Chùa Keo – Thái Bình, in collaboration with the Buddhist Association of Văn Lang Pagoda, solemnly organized the Grand Vesak Celebration of Buddhist Calendar 2562 – Gregorian Calendar 2018.

The Keo Pagoda Monastery held the Bánh Bìa, Bánh Dày, and Bánh Phong Festival to commemorate the anniversary of Zen Master Dương Không Lộ’s passing.

As part of the commemoration of the 924th anniversary of Zen Master Dương Không Lộ’s passing, on July 14, 2018 (the 2nd day of the 6th lunar month, Year of the Dog), the Keo Pagoda Monastery organized the Bánh Bìa, Bánh Dày, and Bánh Phong Festival. This event aimed to continue the long-standing cultural traditions of the local people while expressing deep reverence toward the Holy Patriarch.

The government has approved the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to host Vesak 2019.

The Government Committee for Religious Affairs issued an official document on June 26, 2018, to the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, approving in principle the Sangha's hosting of the United Nations Day of Vesak 2019. Additionally, on July 9, 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam sent a diplomatic note to the Chairman of the International Organizing Committee for the United Nations Vesak Celebration 2019.
