On the afternoon of April 19, at the memorial hall of Thanh Long Pagoda (Tran Lam Ward, Hung Yen Province), Pham Quang Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee, led a delegation of provincial leaders from the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to pay their respects to Venerable Elder Most Thich Thanh Duc, Vice Supreme Patriarch of the Council for Certification.

The delegation was cordially received by Venerable Elder Most Thich Thien Nhon, Vice Supreme Patriarch of the Council for Certification and Chairman of the Executive Council; Venerable Thich Thanh Hien, Standing Member of the Executive Council and Head of the GHPGVN Executive Committee of Hung Yen Province; together with other venerable members of the Funeral Organizing Committee.

At the memorial hall (Giác linh đường), Pham Quang Ngoc and the provincial leaders solemnly offered incense and paid homage to the enlightened spirit (Giác linh) of Venerable Elder Most Thich Thanh Duc. The delegation then circumambulated the coffin in deep mourning and signed the condolence book in remembrance.



Afterward, at the reception room, Venerable Elder Most Thich Thien Nhon, Head of the Funeral Organizing Committee, expressed his profound gratitude for the sincere sentiments of the leaders of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee and authorities, who took the time to pay their respects to the late Vice Supreme Patriarch of the Council for Certification. He also conveyed condolences to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Funeral Organizing Committee, and the disciples and Dharma family.

In response, Pham Quang Ngoc expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Venerable Elder Most Thich Thanh Duc, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Funeral Organizing Committee, and the disciples and Dharma family.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that the Venerable Elder Most was a highly respected senior monk of great virtue who made significant contributions to guiding monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in the former Thai Binh area—now part of Hung Yen Province—to live in unity, uphold the principle of “a good life and a beautiful faith,” and accompany local authorities in building a cultured and ethical society, thereby contributing to the increasingly prosperous development of the homeland.
On this occasion, he also respectfully wished Venerable Elder Most Thich
Thien Nhon, Chairman of the Executive Council, along with the venerable
dignitaries of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the
GHPGVN Executive Committee of Hung Yen Province, good health and success in
their religious endeavors.
He further expressed his hope that the Sangha leadership would continue
to guide monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in inheriting and promoting the
noble values that Venerable Elder Most Thich Thanh Duc had diligently
cultivated, thereby contributing to the service of the Dharma and the Nation.
