On the afternoon of February 5, 2017, Keo Pagoda, located in Duy Nhat Commune (Vu Thu), solemnly organized a longevity celebration for senior citizens and Buddhist followers.
Venerable Thich Thanh Quang, the abbot of the pagoda, presented gifts to the elderly participants.
During the ceremony, the pagoda honored and presented gifts to 157 senior citizens and Buddhist followers of Keo Pagoda, aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, and over 90, from the two communes of Duy Nhat and Vu Tien (Vu Thu). This annual event embodies the Buddhist principle of filial piety, recognizing and venerating the elderly who have contributed to raising and nurturing younger generations. The celebration serves as an encouragement for senior citizens to continue living long, healthy, and meaningful lives while also reminding younger generations of the importance of gratitude and filial duty towards their parents and grandparents.
