Keo Pagoda - Thai Binh Organizes "Voluntary Blood Donation" Program During the Spring Retreat 2017

On the morning of January 1, 2017, Keo Pagoda, located in Duy Nhat Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province, solemnly hosted the "Voluntary Blood Donation" program—an initiative deeply reflecting the Buddhist virtues of Compassion, Joy, Selflessness, and Altruism.

During the event, Venerable Thich Thanh Quang, Abbot of Keo Pagoda, was honored with a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Red Cross Society for his contributions.

The program was attended by Dr. Hoang Thi Thuy, Deputy Head of the Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, alongside delegates from the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, as well as representatives of various departments and organizations in Duy Nhat Commune.

Held in conjunction with the Spring Retreat 2017, themed "Reunion Tet – Giving Love – Sharing Life," the event was warmly supported by Venerable Thich Thanh Quang, Buddhist followers, and young volunteers from both within and outside the commune. A total of 44 blood units were collected, embodying a meaningful act of love and generosity at the start of the new year—"A drop of blood given, a world of love received."
