Open Letter of the Charity Program "Warm Winter Returns to the Village"

Dear Buddhist followers near and far,

Ha Giang – the northernmost land of our country, where towering rocky mountains stir the soul, where even gravel and dust seem poetic, where the golden afternoon sunlight does not call for rest but instead inspires the footsteps of young travelers seeking new adventures.

Yet, beneath this breathtaking beauty lies the daily struggle of the highland people. The rugged terrain presents countless challenges, making life here harsh and self-sufficient. Economic hardships remain a burden, and when winter arrives, the biting cold not only threatens their health but also affects their livelihoods and daily meals.

Through a field survey, recognizing the hardships faced by the people of Ta Phin Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, and embracing the spirit of "mutual love" and "love others as you love yourself," Keo Pagoda (Thai Binh), in collaboration with the Red Cross Society of Vu Thu District, has decided to launch the charity program "Warm Winter Returns to the Village."

The program is carried out with the hope of alleviating difficulties for the people in the upcoming harsh winter, bringing warmth and love to Ta Phin Village. The charity team will travel to Ta Phin Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, to personally deliver 200 gift packages to the local people. Each package includes:

• 1 warm blanket
• 1 double-layer mosquito net
• 10kg of rice
• 1 set of three cooking pots and pans
• An envelope containing 200,000 VND in cash

The total estimated cost for this trip is 150 million VND.

Travel date: Saturday and Sunday, December 9 – 10, 2017.

Keo Pagoda earnestly calls on all compassionate hearts to join hands in alleviating the hardships of the highland people. May Ha Giang, though geographically distant, feel the warmth of love and support sent from the plains.
