Keo Pagoda - Thai Binh presents gifts to encourage learning and talent in the 2016 - 2017 school year

On September 2, 2017 (July 12, Dinh Dau year), Keo Pagoda - Thai Binh solemnly held a ceremony to award scholarships to students who passed the entrance exams to universities and colleges and gave gifts to excellent students at all levels, as well as students with difficult circumstances who have made progress in life.

Attending and directing the program were Venerable Thich Thanh Quang, abbot of Keo Pagoda, People's Council delegate of Vu Thu district, and Master of Literature at Hanoi National University of Education.

Delegates representing the local government included Pham Xuan Cuong, vice chairman of Duy Nhat Commune People's Committee; Hoang Van Kham, deputy secretary of Duy Nhat Commune Party Committee; Vu Xuan Bau, chairman of Duy Nhat Commune Learning Promotion Association; Ngo Hong Nam, secretary of Vu Tien Commune Party Committee, representing the Party Committee and People's Committee of Vu Tien Commune; Nguyen Huu Lang, chairman of Keo Pagoda Ancestral Temple Association; along with other representatives from the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and various departments, agencies, and organizations of Duy Nhat Commune and Vu Tien Commune.

At the study encouragement program, the organizing committee presented gifts to 167 children from Keo Village, Duy Nhat Commune, who are descendants of Buddhists from Vu Tien Commune practicing at Keo Pagoda. Among them, 27 students passed the entrance exams to colleges and universities, while 140 students were recognized as excellent students at the national, district, and school levels across high schools, middle schools, and primary schools, as well as students who overcame difficult circumstances to excel in their studies.

The program to encourage learning and talent in the 2016-2017 school year at Keo Pagoda contributed to continuing the tradition of studiousness of the Vietnamese people. At the same time, it demonstrated the concern and responsibility for propagating the Dharma and benefiting living beings in Buddhist culture.
