Youth Buddhist Club of Ung Linh Pagoda - Thanh Ban celebrates 5th anniversary of establishment

On the evening of July 21, 2018 (the 9th of June in the year of the Dog), at Ung Linh Pagoda, Xuan Hoa Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province, the Youth Buddhist Club of Ung Linh Pagoda organized the 5th anniversary celebration of its establishment and practice under the guidance of Venerable Thich Thanh Quang – the abbot of Keo Pagoda, Thai Binh.

The ceremony took place in a solemn, intimate, and warm atmosphere, with the presence of Venerable Thich Thanh Quang – the abbot of Keo Pagoda and the founder of the Club; Venerable Thich Thanh Thinh – the abbot of Luu Phuc Pagoda in Phu Ky Village, Nghia Chau Commune, Nghia Hung District, Nam Dinh Province, along with representatives from the Dharma practice centers at the pagoda, representatives from other Youth Buddhist Clubs, and a large number of local Buddhist laymen and laywomen.

The Youth Buddhist Club of Ung Linh Pagoda – Thanh Ban was established on July 20, 2013. After five years of operation and development, the club has grown from a modest number of members to nearly 60 active participants. Under the careful guidance of Venerable Thich Thanh Quang and the members of the executive board, the club has been involved in many humanitarian activities, contributing positively to the propagation of Buddhism and integrating it into daily life. After five years of growth, many members of the club have matured and become good citizens of society, achieving certain successes in their lives.

During this event, the club also set goals for the upcoming year, with a special focus on supporting and participating in Buddhist activities, studying the teachings of Buddhism, and cultivating good character.

The most emotional moment of the anniversary ceremony was when the two venerable monks, along with club members, lit a candle to celebrate the 5th anniversary. The candle shone brightly in the joy and peace of the occasion, marking the 5th birthday of the Youth Buddhist Club of Ung Linh Pagoda – a day to continue spreading love, a day to promise meaningful activities ahead, a day to sing the song "Mai nha chung" (Common Home) to strengthen unity.
