Keo Pagoda
Keo Pagoda in Thai Binh is one of the oldest and most famous pagodas in Vietnam, located in Duy Nhat Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province. With a history of over 400 years, Keo Pagoda is not only a spiritual destination but also a unique architectural heritage, attracting a large number of tourists and researchers. Keo Pagoda was originally built by Zen Master Duong Khong Lo, along the banks of the Red River in 1061 in Giao Thuy Village, Ha Thanh Prefecture (now Nam Dinh Province). However, after enduring various historical upheavals and a great flood in 1611, the pagoda was rebuilt in 1632, thanks to the efforts of Quận công Hoang Nhan Dung and his wife. The pagoda is also closely associated with Zen Master Duong Khong Lo, a renowned figure in Vietnamese Buddhism, who made significant contributions to the development of Buddhism during the Ly Dynasty.
