The charity program “Spring of Love” is an annual event organized at Keo Pagoda during the Tet holiday, aimed at supporting underprivileged families in neighboring communes. Given the challenging developments of the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the past year, the gifts provided to the community for the New Year are all the more practical and meaningful.

In his opening speech at the gift distribution ceremony, Venerable Thich Thanh Quang – Abbot of Keo Pagoda and head of the organizing committee – emphasized once again the Buddhist spirit of compassion, relief from suffering, and spreading joy. He also highlighted the commitment to the motto of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha: “Buddhism always accompanies the nation,” and the long-standing national principle of “Love others as yourself.” On the occasion of the approaching Year of the Tiger, with permission from the Party committees, the Buddhist Sangha, and local authorities, Keo Pagoda held a charity gift distribution for 400 underprivileged households from the communes of Duy Nhat, Vu Tien, Vu Doai, Hong Phong, Nguyen Xa, and Trung An in Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province. The Venerable also extended New Year wishes to Buddhist followers and disadvantaged families in Vu Thu District, wishing them a safe, joyful, and happy Tet. He expressed gratitude to businesses, benefactors, and philanthropists for their financial contributions to this noble cause.

On this occasion, representatives of the Vu Thu District Red Cross Society delivered a speech expressing their gratitude for the benevolence and contributions of Keo Pagoda’s monastic community and benefactors. They presented commemorative gifts to the monks and benefactors, acknowledging their continued support for the disadvantaged in the district. They also hoped for ongoing contributions in the coming years to ensure that the poor in the district can celebrate Tet with joy, peace, and happiness, embraced by the love and care of the community and society.
