On February 7, 2018, Keo Pagoda Monastery in
Thai Binh organized the "Spring of Love 2018" charity gift
distribution program. A total of 105 gift packages were handed directly to
families facing difficult circumstances and victims of Agent Orange in the
communes of Duy Nhat, Vu Tien, Hong Phong, and Vu Doai.
For generations, the people of Vietnam have
been known for their tradition of mutual support: "The healthy leaf wraps
the torn leaf." To continue this beautiful tradition of compassion and
solidarity, and in celebration of the Lunar New Year, the Keo Pagoda Monastery
has made gift-giving an annual event. With a heart full of empathy, they aim to
share the challenges of families in need and victims of Agent Orange. This act
of charity is a noble gesture in keeping with the Buddhist principles of
compassion, alleviating suffering, and spreading joy.
During this program, 105 gift packages, each
worth 500,000 VND, were distributed directly to the underprivileged families
and victims of Agent Orange in Duy Nhat, Vu Tien, Hong Phong, and Vu Doai
communes.
The program was made possible with the
generous support of various organizations and individuals, including the Red
Cross Society of Vu Thư District, the Merit Gathering Association of Keo Pagoda
Monastery, the Tra Ly Spinning Company in Thai Binh City, Mizusawwa Milk Tea
Shop in Thai Binh City, and other kind-hearted sponsors.
