Welcoming a Joyous New Summer, Celebrating the Glory of the Party and the Eternal Prosperity of the Country: With the radiant light of the Buddha, we pray to the Three Jewels for Vietnamese Buddhism to shine with faith. On the morning of April 30, 2016, at Ung Linh Pagoda – Thanh Ban, Xuan Hoa Commune, Vu Thu District, Thai Binh Province, the 2016 Summer Retreat officially began.

At exactly 7:30 AM, the gates of the pagoda were opened to welcome the participants. Under the guidance of the esteemed monks and nuns, more than 200 participants joyfully joined the activities on the first day: learning the retreat rules, practicing the proper conduct of a Buddhist layperson, group activities, dividing into sub-groups, chanting the Vu Lan Sutra, and enjoying cultural exchanges through performances.

The activities of the first day were warmly embraced by the participants, who were eager and filled with the spirit of Dharma.
